It’s Not All Men, but it’s Always a Man
This is a video work included within the project, offering a complementary, sensory experience that deepens the emotional tension present in the photographs. It consists of still shots of real urban locations marked as “unsafe” by women in a global safety-reporting app. Each place is connected to a personal, anonymous story of harassment.
Layered with ambient street soundscapes and voiceovers of women recounting their experiences in brief, direct statements, the video builds a quiet but persistent feeling of unease. The stillness of the images paired with the intimate audio emphasizes the emotional residue left behind—long after the incident has passed.
This work exposes the invisible threat that often exists in ordinary public spaces, asking the viewer to reflect on how fear and vulnerability shape everyday life for women. Together with the photographs, the video creates an immersive and unsettling environment that invites recognition, empathy, and conversation.
The work is a part of the photographic work under the same name. Duration 11:35 min.

Escape from Reality
‘I am closing my eyes once my head hits the pillow and a thought appears in my mind: ‘so what do I wanna dream about today?’. There appears a big old-looking book - like the ones we see in the libraries with a hardcover, yellow pages with little jagged edges and as if it cloaks all the secret knowledge of the world. However, the one I have in front of my eyes is not with any spells or banned rituals but with bright and happy tales. Dreams I can choose from. Today night I want to dream about a green land where I am safe and sound. I close the book and fall deeper into the dream world or a different reality. A place I can be whomever I want and do whatever I want. My breath slows down as I step into this another dimension. And tomorrow night I will do it all over again.’
The project related to my own story where dreams became my escape from reality and coping mechanism as a child from stressors in my life. I wanted to create a dreamscape that gives a sense of coziness and safety.
The work is also interactive within the installation.
